Volunteering in Stonehaven Library
Aberdeenshire Libraries would like you to get in touch if you have some free time to volunteer in a number of roles. A flexible commitment of 4 to 6 hours per month is needed.
Volunteer activities are a set period of 12 weeks. They are monitored to ensure continuous improvement and to assess whether there is an ongoing need for the activity being delivered.
What we are looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with great organisational and communication skills.
You will have skills in one or more of the following areas and a passion for working with small group or individual activities including:
- Bookbug
- Storytelling
- Lego building
- Knitting/crochet group
- Dungeons and Dragons
- Board games
- Basic 1 on 1 guitar, ukulele and/or violin sessions
- Local studies inventory checking
- Coding
- Book groups
What support you will get
You will be working alongside a Senior Library Administrator within a branch library in Aberdeenshire. We will provide support to help you deliver activities.
You will receive induction training as well as any specific training required for the activities in which you will be involved. You will also receive regular check-ins with the Senior Library Administrator for a review and evaluation of the activities and tasks.
This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to work within libraries or has an interest or skill they would like to pass on to others.
